Can grapefruit interact with medicine?
The answer
Yes. Grapefruit and some related citrus can interact with certain medications. The US Food and Drug Administration says that besides grapefruit, Seville oranges and pomelos may have the same effect, and advises asking your doctor or pharmacist whether grapefruit juice interacts with your medicine. Read the medication guide or label too. If yours does interact, do not eat the listed fruits, and do not assume that any amount of grapefruit is harmless.
